Microsoft suggested reaching out to you concerning this issue. The issue was that there was a dependency on the form onload event.
Here is their suggestion:
On my research found that Transactional field has dependencies on the cdi_emailsendonload JavaScripts, though this event handler preventing you to hide the transactional field because of the dependencies . after disabling the cdi_emailsendonload event handler we were able to hide the transactional field on the form . So I would request you to try disabling the cdi_emailsendonload event on form properties and try to check the field is present on the form .
Their suggestion is to fix the JavaScript dependancies on the field so this can easily be disabled.
Thanks,
Russ
