Announcements - get updates to existing announcements

I like the new look and feel of the upgraded support site. However, the announcements that are emailed out (when you follow the entire category) don't proactively push updates to existing announcements.

When you send something as critical as entire services delayed or down, I want to see when it's fixed or improving. I only get the negative news and have to log on and check myself to see when it's working again.

I believe emails were sent with each update in the older version of this site.
