Attachments to Email Templates

Is there any possibility of adding an attachment feature to email templates to the list of development opportunities. It is something we would get great use out of, and would add to the selling points to our clients.

I understand that we can use the document manager and add links to documents, but we are after the ability to physically attach a document to the email template or email send if possible.
