Dynamic fields do not work in email tests

Could you please allow dynamic fields, such as Dear ${Recipient.contact.firstname[0]!""}, to work when we send a Test email from an email template editor?

Currently, whether using Email Designer or HTML, the dynamic field is inserted into the email as shown above, but it only takes effect if that email is run through an automation or if a QuickSend is manually triggered to the contact (the email will properly say “Dear Samir”).

But when we are working in the email template editor and press Test, and choose an email address to send it to, the test email delivered to an inbox will show Dear ${Recipient.contact.firstname[0]!""}, which is not a proper test since we still don’t see the field having the desired effect. It’s risky to blast an email out to hundreds of contacts if we’re not certain every dynamic field is working correctly.
