When form fields of the type list are mapped to a lookup field the posted field value is used to map the values in the lookup field. This is a problem in scenarios with a need to localize form field list to different languages.
Let's say that we have a newsletter sign up field that contains a country field. On a german site we want the countries to be listed in German. On the US site we want the countries to be listed in English. Both list are mapped to a country lookup field on contact. This does not Work unless we have the values in both german and English in the lookup field. This is bacause the posted fields are mapped using the posted label and not the value. It's a bit strange because if the country field is a text field it is the value from the posted field that is used for mapping to the country lookup field.
